Clive say that the risk is lower to get much CSFB in Zerotill crops. I have found that out to.
But here this is à new experiance and some is not sure its tru. Are there any research trials that confirm that we found out . My experiance is in SpringOSR.

there is some ADHB researchers that seems to agree, my experience is purely anecdotal and could be nothing more than luck or playing the odds at this stage

there are certainly some logical arguments about as to why zero-till might have the advantage here re predators and recognition of crops etc

this last autumn no flea beetle in osr autocast or drilled
slugs where a problem in osr establishment but it does not take many slugs to damage rape in the first day or so it germinates slug control still needed when seeding rape

but no slug damage on wheat after osr despite seeing some slugs and slug eggs late September planted if we had delayed planting till mid October then I am sure the risk is much higher from slugs
in the text book early planting is a cultural control for slug damage on wheat
I also believe that in notill winter wheat establishment earlier drilling is essential if black grass is uncontrollable then do not plant wheat in the autumn but the pre emergence stack works well in no till giving a higher margin than later planted crops

back to op if you do not have csfb locally then there is also a much reduced problem

We usually have csfb in spring and that à issue when we grow spring OSR normaly! At autum slugs can be bad in wet years if we put som winterOSR in.
