ez steer

I still can't believe your user actually had to do one extra pass with GPS and you think that's good! What was the pass to pass accuracy like. Did you measure the joins between each bout and get it to match the row spacing consistently across the whole field. If auto steer is set right you should find it almost impossible to see the join... I would never sell egnos as that good. I like to keep happy customers. 90% of the kits I sell are RTK less than 5% are egnos. Those 5% give me the most headaches !!!!

I bet! Managed to get our drilling with rtX down perfect this season and you cannot see any join at all. On the train to london and back this last week it was interesting to see how many autosteer setups had gaps between the bouts of drilling, or had thin green lines perfectly matched at the 12m point between tramlines (liquid fert/spray miss). Amazing how many people have the technology but not the brain cells to actually get their full moneys worth out of it.

I think you missed the point. He was able to make an extra pass because you couldn't see any joins.
The join between bouts was the same on every bout run.
It wasn't almost impossible to see the join it was impossible to see any join.
Second season now and no complaints only more satisfied customers.

No I perfectly get your point, just never ever had anyone with a drill set up so wide that GPS made it creat an extra pass. Every drill I've ever measured has always overlapped by a tiny amount to avoid gaps. From your experience the drill was set up to miss buts prior to you saving him with your egnos correction.

your forgetting the perfect squares of un-drilled ground interspersed across each headland.....lots of them about here again as per usual

John that's not caused by auto steer or GPS that's caused by stupid drivers not good operators!
Ps drove near Benwick the other day, must have been near you as I'm sure I witnessed the gift in some fields, it wasn't autosteer but very good drilling

i thought it was caused by the "driver" watching the screen and dropping the drill when the tractor icon crossed the headland boundary mark, but forgetting an air drill needs at least 4-6m in the ground before the seed reaches the coulters

Benwick? You was lucky to get out of there alive tbh, If you had been sooner you would have seen some of my ploughing, just as straight as the drilling

Like I have always said, GPS can't be used successfully by an idiot! It's just another tool that needs setting up...... On that bombshell that we agree, I'll get my coat!

John you have too much time on your hands. If you don't like auto steer don't buy it, but no need to slag others off & bad manners to keep boasting about your ploughing. Mate of mine used to be world champion, but he dosen't talk about it all the time & he has bought auto steer for his tractors.

Run Trimble 750 with auto pilot . Tried with egnos in first season spent more time nudging than watching drill if you can get good enough signal and it works for you great but I would never advise it for drilling . . Got hp xp for remainder of season which was ok . Have used RTX centre point for the last two seasons and feel this is a good compromise as don't feel I can justify RTK but accuracy is pretty close.
