Finished yesterday.

Cabernet 1.62 t/acre
Trinity 1.49 t/acre
Camelot 1.41 t/acre
Quartz under 1t/acre

Farm average 1.39 t/acre (would be 1.54 t/acre if excluded the Quartz. Absolutely decimated by verticillium wilt)

Started on some swathed rape today,

Fashion - Did OK for us at 1.3-4t/acre (estimate, no weighbridge)

Vision next hoping to do better as the pods seemed to be longer

All oilseed rape now in the shed safest place for it looking at the weather for the next few days. Will know final yields as shifting to store next week . Some has done very well some we were disappointed with. But i think it will average out ok in the end (hope so anyhow). Now what to do for the next 2 weeks while waiting for wheat to come fit.

7-10 isn't terrible , i wouldn't worry too much about that, maybe your crops isn't as fit ? It's just a case of constant tweeking rotor speed and fan to get that last bit

7-10 seeds 'per hand' is absolutely fine. If you assume a hand is say 12cm by 8cm then there are 1.04m hands per hectare so 10 seeds per hand is 10.4m seeds per hectare. If you work on say 4.25g per thousand seeds then that's just 44kg/ha or around £10/ha at £240/t.

To keep it really simple 1 seed under a hand is worth around £1 per hectare in losses at current prices.

And bear in mind losses tend to be worse right behind the combine.

Delivered weight into central store.

Not exciting but no disaster either, happy enough for my first foray into DD rape:)

would be nice if all the fields go like this.

Believe it or not it had been, it was CLAAS'S demonstrator. The whole field wasn't like that though, averaged 4.9 t/ha over the whole field. Impressed with the combine though.
