What price for Quality Round Bale Hay

Round here it's sold off the field by the bale, which is simple. We were offered 100 bales @ £22 a bale last month, which we (regretfully) turned down. But that is, I think, about what it's worth.

A lot can change, I know guys buying hay to store for 2 years time as they say it's cheaper that the cost of making and it will never be cheaper, same with straw it's never going to be as cheap, buy buy buy

I have a lot of straw yes, have to carry a big stock as the farms we supply expect us to supply them right through they no longer buy large amounts off the field,it suits them as they save shed room and save money I suppose, I will have to take a loss on what's left but thats life,

How much cheaper is straw than last year? About £20/tonne?

Sold a guy (horsey) small bales last year @ £4, this year he said he wants round bales and says there are 10 small in a round and offered £25-£30 for a round bale.

Is it my maths wrong or his:scratchhead::scratchhead:
Yes but cheaper to make and all handling by machine would have thought 30 was not far out
