We had 1 very similar when we were young, but we had a steering wheel attached to the axle by 2 lengths of fence wire, no brakes back then either.

Having no brakes was half the fun,We ran ours down a fair hill with a sharpish bend at the bottom, could get 3 of us in it sometimes you made it round ,sometimes yer did,nt just got up dusted yourself down and started again.

We had the Dinosaur in this week, a local crusher that is 40ish years old. Crushed a pile of concrete and also stones picked off the fields.

My uncle was loading with the Case shovel

We borrowed a Nh digger with a breaker to break oversized stones. Nice enough machine but really crap to spin the seat round as there's no room.

This stone has lying at the edge of a field since our family came here in 39, it must of been a fair job to get it moved back then.

A while with the breaker and it was gone

We got a doing from the tail end of Hurricane Bertha, we had 4" of rain overnight and further inch today.
First thing this morning I thought it wasn't too bad

But after a few hours the water from up the hill was making it down

About 10 acre of wheat and 15 barley in deep water so not too bad, there will be others worse affected.

The drier was only the flooding at yard thankfully but our Pheasant pen took a hammering with almost 3ft of water going through it.

now I see why you weren't drying! Came over in a couple of our fields this afternoon. nothing as bad as that though. Apparently when the tide comes in, in Aberdeen it raises river further up? Hope you haven't lost too much.

Yeah its same here when high tide comes in the water comes up and also when the hill water starts coming down. At least its not in our houses like some poor buggers. Granda said its the worst he's seen it:(
