Have to agree with @sumo, if the wheels were to stop turning on a DTS then I would hate to think what mess you were making with the rest of the drill. Credit to Sumo they work well, very well.

In the spring on sticky stuff on a DTS, it was the covering discs that filled up and stopped turning not the wheels. I got out and kept cleaning them off as they wee dragging but when crop came up (s barley) could nt tell a difference.

Does build up on the wheel lead to uneven seed depth?

It doesn't seem to be a problem, the wheels look bigger but in reality they don't get much bigger than the tread diameter.
centrifugal force seems to keep them clean (ish).

B&B yours would run much better if you could give them some clearance by stepping them back a bit, the best part of 20 years of experience with them has shown that most of the Otico wheels run much better if there're no scrapers or framework anywhere near them.

The DTS was top of my shopping list when looking at drills - but new was out of my price range, and no used ones about.
They do look a top drill! (y)

Have to agree with Sumo, was out with our DTS today, no problem with the wheels not turning, good depth control as per usual and another 20 hectares in before the drizzle came in. Certainly did not have to get off and scrape half the field off the drill every so often!!!

In general, and in my Opinion, it is not that there are press wheels on the drills, but the type of press wheels that can be an issue.

I wish everyone around the world could see these pictures, as then maybe some of the folks that never leave the end of their driveway can see what some of you have to deal with. The more of these pics I see, the more I appreciate the soils I get to farm. Thanks for posting these pics and of the Mzuri's abilities.
