my s3 phone has died, a quick google suggests they suffer from sudden death#

I've got a month to run on my contract so I imagine they (tescomobile) will send out a new phone.

there's nothing of mega importance on my phone........................except my contacts!

is there any way of getting my contacts back or are they likely to have been backed up somewhere?

or will I need to get the thing fixed?

TIA

p.s. i'm not particularly tech savvy so idiots guide please ;)

will your contacts not be on your sim card if you set the phone up to do that

ummmmmm............no idea if I set it up to do that, I remember blue-toothing the contacts from my old phone to this one but that was near two years ago.

I thought i'd just put the sim in my old phone.............but the new sim card's are half the size!

you can get a sim holder that converts micro sims to full size or just get another phone and put your sim in and pray they are there but if you still have the other old phone you could blue tooth them to your new phone

Google sync should have backed up your contacts. When you get a new phone it should prompt you to sign in to your google account then it should sync contacts, pictures etc to your new phone. Im sure someone will be along soon to correct me!

oh and you can get your sim cut to mini or micro sim. Tool off ebay or local phone shop should do it!

I don't think you have enough room on sim cards for contacts any more (OK when it was just name and numbers) as nowadays your contacts are more comprehensive ie multiple contact numbers, address, email, birthdays etc etc. Only chance is if you've ever backed it up/connected to a PC/ sync'd otherwise you're sunk. If you've lost them see it a liberating cleansing opportunity and you will just have to be polite every time you answer the phone ;)

PS have you tried any of the How to Fix SDS guides online?

Agree with this, presuming Dave signed up for it in the first place.

new battery today, just put it in and on charge, will look in later and see if it works!
If you have a gmail account and signed into it on your phone it should have done it as you added them, any older contacts would be on the phone itself I think if you bluetoothed them over. Sim will only hold a limited amount. I do the google contacts now, should be a lot easier switching phones when my contract runs out soon!
