I’ve got a tame small animal vet who I take stuff to i don’t fancy stitching myself and he told me work away it’s the same just weaker
Yer well he darns my socks and sticks patches on my trousers much better with the needle than meWhich obviously is everything. What with it being illegal for a non vet to stitch an animal in the UK.
You've obviously had different advice - all I know is, when S-I-L wanted some for her lab, she was told not to use the farm version but to get the dog specific one.
Yet again I must lament the absence of @bovine ...............My (farm) vet prescribed Metacam for a collie that was hopping lame. That’s fine, says I, I’ve got some of that already... I was told that I mustn’t give her that or I would kill her, so I begrudgingly bought an expensive bottle of Metacam syrup to squirt on her food every night.
Fair comment as well ?Yet again I must lament the absence of @bovine View attachment 966888...............

His attitude was a bit off with people some times to say the least, but I bet he was/ is a good vet , no doubt. And then we would have proceeded to take turns in saying he was talking rubbish ....... just don’t get why he left
He posted some good stuff and never shied away from a ' bit of a debate'.His attitude was a bit off with people some times to say the least, but I bet he was/ is a good vet , no doubt.
Sounded likecHe Wouldnt suffer fools lightly .
It's sub cut for cattle but I thought it was I m for sheep. That's what I've used it at. Dose rate, 1ml works wonders and have often used less with good results.
And I have given it to dogs, like 0.1ml
Surely you should be asking the vet though?
I stand corrected and feel a bit fickVet gave some to one of my sheep earlier this month. He definitely did it sub cut.
Always used it at 1ml / 25kg
