They are all round the UK, shown on OS maps as a blue triangle with a blue dot in the centre. Known as Trig points (short for triangulation) any point in the UK was theoretically in sight of at least three of these so with the map makers placing a theodolite on top everywhere could be accurately mapped.Can someone explain on edge of the field not seen one before??
