Farmers earn more from YouTube than their crops

thought the vid was an opportunity to move on from the previous issues. I hope so often little riffs occur and sometimes go on for far longer than anyone wants.
I would be very pleased if the journey of the farm could be looked on positively, it’s been my life since I was around 6 years old, later this year my age will start with a 4. To think we are almost there is remarkable, the commitment from my family and ourselves has been huge, when Charlotte portrays the journey in a light hearted fashion should not result in negative comments about our efforts surely?

Tbh not seen much, only what was highlighted on here don’t watch Charlottes vids. For no particular reason other than there’s so many to chose and many were there before. However as a one off introduction from another Chanel I seen it a positive

I appreciate your comments and would like to state that my view of TFF was that it was there to help others along? Our farm gate is open and I’d hoped others where open to us for advice, it was and can be again a kind tool to assist those in the industry

The sheep farmer doesn’t look after those cows, I do. The calving shed is scraped daily and bedded by hand - daily. Any dirty bedding in the video would be due to the calving cow panching around the calving pens. As an authority on farming, I, the farmer would welcome you to visit the farm and look forwards to hearing your views on best practice. Best wishes, Roy

Roy your calving cow vs my calving cows, just done 700 in 7 weeks and everyone looked like that. Only assisted 5. That’s the difference.

Your correct Roy. The purpose of TFF is to help/support others and ask for advice.

I'm sure if you ask anything. Plenty knowledgeable people will help.

Easy to take a picture after the cattle been bedded. Unfortunately ours don't wait until after fresh straw put in to calve.

As a simple beef farmer how does the amount of bedding in your calving pens effect how many you have to assist?

Her recent reel on Instagram is quite telling I thought. It might seem like it's a.joke but many a true word said in jest.🙊

She is just one of many and personally it dilutes how good social media can be. But each to their own and no one is forcing anyone to follow anyone.

That image shows what a fantastic job you are doing there, great looking cow and so clean. Apologies for not making it clearer, we aren’t dairying, we have a herd of about 50 sucklers. The cow who’d calves on the video came in a batch of 5 blue cross heifers about 6 years ago. This particular animal isn’t the strongest and doesn’t maintain much condition to calving. Once out to grass she’ll do well and do her calf well, creep feeders will give both cow and calf a respite/boost. I’m hoping dairying pays a bit better than the sucklers do 👍

Cows are bedded 7 days a week. It’s simply attention to detail. It’s not difficult. Many are doing it and thats why they don’t need YouTube for a second income.

Takes all sorts, and not knocking anyone, but life seems hard and busy enough without turning it into a mini Truman show. Couldn't think of anything worse, than either my wife or I, turning every activity on the farm into content for a youtube channel. Is it really worth the hassle it would bring?

Even if it was, I don't think I would like for everyone to know my business, and would definately feel like a prat walking around in public videoing myself attending trade shows and markets etc.

Yes, well done you!
I used to bed my calving boxes 7 days a week too, maybe my cows weren’t as well trained as yours, because sometimes they could get a bit of a mess occasionally.
I think you should do a YouTube video on how you train your cows not to sh*t in calving boxes, and help everyone out.

Don’t watch any farm YouTube stuff anymore but I googled how to skin a lamb other day to see if there was a better way, big heads up to the female youtube farmer as she’s done a video, I believe she is the one mentioned here,

Cracking video and very brave really putting that up, but helped me see someone else take on it so well done to her 👍🏻

If people watch the videos and think Charlotte doesn’t come across well then that’s their opinion, you can’t expect everyone to praise you for doing something millions of others are doing.
this is similar to Charlotte going on a rant because she didn’t get praised for buying a bloody Merlo with YouTube money - no one’s owes you a congratulations, so don’t go about life expecting it. If you broadcast your life on social media/YouTube then you have to take the criticism, that’s just how it is.

Charlotte is good at just getting on with jobs like that and no fear to show it as it is! 👍

I switched her off on that too.
I’ve watched a few over the last couple of weeks, some of hers were good, some I just turned off, joe seels is getting a bit like that too! Rambles a load of rubbish every so often, both seem to be trying to get ollyblog’s formula, bring on the lighter nights and better weather for me! Then TV won’t get a look in!

I'm just a boring old fart. Charlotte's enthusiasm and fun attitude doesn't appeal to me.

I'm sure I'm NOT her target demographic!🤦‍♂️🤣
