Has anyone used a flat 8 on a masted forklift. My sheds are quite tight, just wondering on it would be a handy efficient way of unloading and stacking
I think it would work well in my shed but I haven't been able to find any pictures or examples. What ways were the grabs mounted?I’ve seen a few setups like that. Worked brilliantly.
Go for it if good concrete will be quickAh sorry I mean the likes of a 2.5 tonne Toyota etc. Concrete and decent hard standing
Ah right I see. Might not have enough forward reach for taking of my trailer, but well worth having a think about. Possibly an adaptor to euro with a bit of an extension. Use Euro brackets at the momentSanderson style - pallet fork style top hooks that went straight on to the backplate and bolt-on bottom brackets. Easy and safe.
The pressure shouldn’t be a problem - do as the ploughing match boys do and load on some weights.I tried it and didn’t get on with it. Too slow to lift and lower. You can’t power down to put pressure on the grab to get the hooks in properly. Not stable enough to be safe and fast.
Used one for years, back in the day, on a Sanderson. It was originally used on a front loader then, we put Sanderson fittings on it. We also had a squeeze grab that picked up the 8’s once they were stacked, and just reversed to the yard, or onto trailers if any further.Has anyone used a flat 8 on a masted forklift. I am on your group. Not noticed, do you have any links to pictures?Couple of people on my Facebook group use them. Little masted forklift, on concrete, nice big shed. Seems to suit them and their system.

It’s called “free lift” and possibly “container spec.” - doesn’t need to extend any higher than 600mm above the height of the carriage or the ROPS.I would have thought height would be an issue as the mast sticks up a good bit from what you’re lifting until it’s at full height. Easy to get caught out in low doorways
