No need BUT they will.
not if they cant afford it. Food should be more expensive and produced in a green way, then see how many of them are so keen on net zero... if they really do want to cut emissions then things are going to get more expensive and they will have to stop doing some things that people have only really been doing for the last 50 years and now think is their basic right...

Bio fuel in planes

Knowing how much it clogs up car engines, I think it may be saver to row across the atlantic in a dingy !!

We are working with a firm that converts Miscanthus into jet fuel! The Miscanthus gets hammered and then pelletised, to reduce transport, then sent off for the magic to happen.

Now hammering and pelletising is an energy hungry business, I wonder how much energy is left even just after this process? Same again, greenwashing.

Practically until we can produce unlimited cheap electricity the likes of these technologies are too energy sapping to deliver any benefit. Until we can harness nuclear fusion (?) at a commercial scale then there will be little benefit in these technologies.

I agree, its all green washing. I believe a levy will be payable depending on your % use of "sustainable" fuel - How they create that sustainable fuel wont come in to the equation I expect.

I see that Dale Vince is setting up his own airline using small twin engined aircraft to run on hydrogen. I don't know if the idea is to use fuel cells and electric motors or to directly feed the hydrogen into the turbo props.
