You’re not on your ownI'd hope so, my worst field will sell 6.5 or 7 tons to acre

They’d be wanting £15k an acre around here.I should hope so yes! That's farm buying money
our man who looks after stores for lamb weston said at £400 sell sell , no extra electric or gassingIf you want movement.
If they are top drawer quality and you aren’t really in a rush, I would hold on for £440 or more.
Not sellling at £400/t is like not selling wheat at £300/t - just greedyour man who looks after stores for lamb weston said at £400 sell sell , no extra electric or gassing
suppose it’s a gamble
Very briefly I’m also toldPeaked at £800 last year, so I’m told.
No coldstore?I guess I should be satisfied selling 25t acre at £420, no gassing or fridge costs.
More than that.Peaked at £800 last year, so I’m told.
How would most contract prices be set,are they min/ max or a set price,I presume they are like oats (but on a much larger scale)and a safe bet most years but pig sick in the bonanza yearCompared to those on packing contracts your coining it in!
Depends, some for example piper will be a higher price than whites. The variousmones I've heard are anywhere from 50 to 75% fixed. Some proportion of this might be at a processing price. From the Perthshire area could be 240 ex depending on how far they are going , for the packing proportion. Whites would be 220 maybe from memory. But the whites might be 50% fixed with no processing fallback. Also depends on movement month as well. How would most contract prices be set,are they min/ max or a set price,I presume they are like oats (but on a much larger scale)and a safe bet most years but pig sick in the bonanza year
Don’t think many packing growers would have the patience to bag thousands of tonnes into 25 kg bags.Compared to those on packing contracts your coining it in!
NopeNo coldstore?
I'm not scared to admit it, my best driest field had the worst yield. Probably be the other way round next seasonYou’re not on your own
Our driest were the same, they were only two we could plant in spring first as it was too wet. They came throo in about 3 weeks and looked god but just never produced. Had about 7.5t seed and 2t ware off them. That was taking the seed close to 55mm too. Last planted field in end of may was the best by far. Least 2023 is almost gone!I'm not scared to admit it, my best driest field had the worst yield. Probably be the other way round next season
Been there!!Don’t think many packing growers would have the patience to bag thousands of tonnes into 25 kg bags.
