The pivots are great loading bales use the steering as a side shift .

Advantage of a pivot,
All round visibility, except when the boom is raised.
Very maneuverable, life or place items around corners.
Spacious cab with high seating position.
Disadvantage of a pivot,
Not as nimble as a rigid
Lacks lift height and reach
Poor at towing
Expensive for the spec.
I changed from a JCB 310s pivot to a JCB 542,70 fws back in July.
For the same money I now have a loader with an extra tonne of lift and two meters extra lift height.
Would I change back to a pivot, maybe, never say never.
At the moment I'm really enjoying the fws machine.
Straw merchant commented last week that I'm faster unloading his lorry with the fws loader than the 310s.

I think the tyres last longer on a pivot , they aren't scrubbing all the time

I'd say a lot of tyre wear on handlers comes from too much right foot, especially dunging out where the front axle starts wanting to slip.

Those spreadabales are sore on any handler I would say. Definitely a job for a heavier loader.

Try running on clean dry concrete an artic and a rigid at similar speeds /anges in a circle ,and without any doubt their will be less rubber left by the artic irrespective off the right foot

I did! i was a dealer for them and this was the very first UK demo and only one to come to UK of this new model when it came out. NON of this model sold in uk BUT it paved the way for another model still with 5ton lift but a single boom and instead of 180hp 6cylinder they used a more compact 180hp 4 cylinder. BUT by the time that reached production i had given up with them anyway. NOT because the machines were bad but because at the time they didnt have good enough road performace and they all had wierd tyre sizes on so no one wanted to buy them around me, PLUS the new sales rep really pee'd me off so i thought sod it i dont need this hassle anymore.
I seem to recall the rough price of that one being about £120k at the time. Seems quite cheap now really considering the metal and amount of parts in it!
My L70 plays with the spread a bale,7t lift and loads of hydraulic flow.
I would have no problem with feeding cattle in sheds after a day with that. All sheds demolished

Have a weidemann 5080 here, find it a great loader and an alternative to the 320s although I don’t think the price difference is much in them now, 5080 would eat the 320 on the sheargrab when we had one out a few years ago
