Kerb on beans anyone?

As the title, we’ve been advised that we can use Kerb on winter beans as long as there’s no frost looming and they have 2 leaves or more!
Anyone done it or planning to do it?
Did it work?

Did it last year here, can’t remember which kerb product or kerb type product it was, but i definitely remember it said on the label ‘suitable for oilseed rape and field bean crops.’ Did a good job of controlling cleavers, was applied on a frost same time as oilseed rape

And people cry when things get banned
I think the only problem with Kerb is the active ingredient getting into groundwater (water supplies) but I may be wrong. However with the UK label restrictions you have to apply pre-em within 7 days of drilling , which is a tight window considering the stewardship guidelines of the product. So to be legal more will rush and apply possibly in unsuitable conditions to comply with label rather than waiting for drains to stop running etc. If beans are sown they are often in the ground, for well over a month prior to emergence so 7 days is not an issue usually before emergence.
Bizarrely take the recent scenario the autumn we have just had, if you were fortunate to have your beans in and got the product on according to label chances are that most of your product has been washed through the soil and helping the groundwater problem if you can apply now for the first time in ages when we are actually getting a more stable period of weather it would still do it's job but be helping with the groundwater problem too but common sense doesn't rule anymore and for whatever reason you have to comply with the label!

Regarding label wording I often think it it to do with companies having an ulterior motive to sell another product(£££) etc.
Can use it pre em I think?
Only within 7 days of drilling.

I can confirm Kerb is recommended on field beans here from 2 to 6 leaves and not pre emergence.
Most generic propyzamides are not permitted on beans so you have to buy the proper stuff though to be 100% legal.
We can use alconifen pre emergence, its commonly mixed with nirvana as a belt braces approach then followed by Kerb.

Wow that illustrates the situation where the one product is used at different times to the same crop in different parts of the world but bizarrely the crop is safe at all times. Is it local regulatory body or another reason I wonder?

Clethodim is on the label for spring beans only.

An interesting product which many in the UK might find useful in beans is Corum which is imazamox 22,5 g/l + bentazone 480 g/l. Its the only really good post emergence for broadleaves.

Here 's our full list of chemicals for beans
