Would different contracts pay a huge difference?
I’ve no haulage charge because I’m on an original liquid contract from when I joined coming up 17 years since,ingredients litres were 33.71 for March,I’d only get that if I went over my base litres.

The cheddar price I imagine is reflective of the lack of make in the Uk and Ireland this spring

Not really. As we all know one litre too much prices fall, 1 litre too little prices rise. Same applies here. The Irish in particular have made feck all.

Has anyone heard of anyone dumping milk this spring? Normally buy now I've heard one or two have had to dump milk due to not having room to process it?

Yes skimmed milk powder. Butter is at a relatively high historical price. Skimmed milk powder however has hardly picked up from the market lows. The two make up ampe. The actual milk price equivalent.
Which is why no processor wants a disciplined market where producers are paid more but produce less. Normally fools work harder for less reward. This year might be the one that works against the processors. Perhaps they might consider something revolutionary, a fixed forward milk price? It works in other industries!
Fixed forward milk prices have been offered by a few companies fairly often over the last few years. A friend of mine contracted ahead at 35ppl just before it rose to 50ppl two years ago. Don't think he'd do it again
We've done it twice on a percentage of our milk. It worked the first time and it's working now. We turned one offered for 2022 down as didn't think it was a high enough offer. Very glad we did!
