You could try Agleader SMS, free download, and limited full use unlock. Even when it reverts back to basic unlock it will still do what you want it to. I use it all the time to process numerous amounts of data from yield mapping, vr appliction files, boundary creation etc.

As @Robt says yes it will work with the right cable. I once did this on a 7920 John Deere with a CLAAS crop sensor. Was quite amuzine to see the CLAAS logo appear on the greenstar. Check with Trimble as their cables are fairly specific.
