Last 2 bales of silage. Everything out tomorrow and just keep my fingers crossed. My phone keeps giving me "memories" of spring the last 5+ years when it was bone dry this time 😭
Yes im working my way through with them just now. As you can there are lots more people wanting an opportunity than actual opportunities. What I've found the issue so far is any potentials are not that keen once the opportunity has been offered. It is 100% about finding the right person which at...
Ha I just showed a good bit on a nice day. I just pretend the bad bits don't exist and will get turned over when dry enough. Like I say think the key to out wintering is not too look to hard.
35 cows been out all winter. Sacrifice part of field and reckon saved a fair whack in straw this winter. No shed space either. Just gotta not look to hard on the wet days but they are enjoying the good ones.
Just had similar run in with Bionic roo auto renewing for me with 6 months to go. Thankfully saw the email in my junk folder and gave them some grief over it and got them to cancel the auto renew. It was going to be fixed at similar prices but I'm hoping in 6 months time it should have come down...
Would anyone know what size of digger would be needed to lift a silage bale into a ring feeder? So that would be 1000kg+ plus grab. Would an 8T be up to the job?
Liked the look of the smaxtec system when I've looked previously for the positives you mention. Can you give me an idea on current cost. PM if you wish. Thanks
Chainless can only feed out one side is about the only drawback but very simple. Use mine for "manually" bedding also where I unroll lines of round bake straw them walk down and spread with a fork - easy work as its light and fluffy. Did try a couple of squares but they were bricks and didn't...
Think it's just for ease of management tbh. Some cows will certainly wean early and some later but hard to tell what's going on when bigger groups. What age do yours usually wean at/how far before calving?
Have a clipex headscoop which has the clamp setup. Thinking maybe top bar off then scoop up high so less movement?? Just seem to still have lots of movement even when "scooped"
Have been mineral bolusing my cattle for about the last 5 years and thinking there must be a better way that my current battle. Has anyone got any good tips for streamlining this as can be slow when I have to halter individuals who thrash their head about. Keep feeling I'm close to getting...
I think for TV yes he is dumbing it down he's made £50k "profit" before costs. Don't think it really matters tho as anyone can pick holes in other people's businesses easy enough. In reality it will more than likely be to keep them all busy while they rake it in from the 3 pods. Think there...
Yes the patching just feels like a constant job. It is a portal frame over 3 old byres so 3 different levels. Needs dug out to one level I just wondered whether there were alternatives to getting it all poured as one slab (the dream but costly)
Have a couple of old cobble floored cattle courts and they are a pain for mucking out as uneven and cobbles always come up. Flat poured concrete would be good of course but thought concrete sleepers could work and allow similar levels of drainage. Any ones used these in for the job? Reckon...
