Hiring barn space

I’ve got a 60x45ft barn that could be used for hiring out during certain times of the year. It’s a modern barn, concrete panels, steel framed etc. so not very pretty but functional! Just curious if anyone else has experience in this area? It could be used for various events, short term storage, possibly weddings etc. we already run a basic glamping and campsite and camper van parking. potentially could work well together? I’m also located in aonb.

would short term use require change of use? Insurance would be required I’m assuming? Any info or ideas would be great to hear!

Thanks

My father used to put on bashes. They were very popular. As a child I was fascinated with a Jamaican Steel Band and I can remember hearing the music whilst laying in bed.
There’s certainly room for BIG simple barn type venues.
It all depends on how successful you want your venue to be as to how well it does. That’s my simple opinion.

I ran bi-monthly events in his old sawmill yard for a decade in leaky old buildings along with many film co visits. These included Midsomer Murders and other TV stuff.
I had a great time with my ‘menu’ charge card which kept things in order.

Trouble is a) it’s most likely needed when you want it too and b) in aonb locals may twitch - traffic always tricky but you may be able to mask it with existing use.

I’d push for parties / functions to boost glamping occupancy

Do you want to use it at all? Or just hire out part of the year and use it yourself the rest of the year? I think so long as you are using it for agricultural use most of the time its fine so far as planning is concerned?

Hi, I'm looking for a large barn to host an event for 80 people. If this is something you would be interested in renting out then please email me as would love to hear more about it. Thanks Emma ([email protected])
