Regen Agriculture Soil Samples

Hi everyone,

I am a PhD student from the University of Nottingham looking to analyse fields naturally high in arsenic, cadmium, chromium, copper, lead or nickel. I will provide a report on the metal content of the soils. Looking to take one or two soil samples (top 5cm).

Please let me know if you have or know of any agricultural fields which are suitable. You can contact me through: 07930242070 or [email protected].

Thanks a lot!
Francesca :)

Any mileage in asking the Water companies for help Frances?

I am thinking on the land they own near to me that was absolutely plastered with liquid sludge for many years, and so rumour had it, they stopped as the HM levels were getting too high!

I did do some work with a Grad student on microplastics in land that had received sludge cake, which was a bit of a worry! Our sludge, was supposedly very low in HM, as it was largely fed by new housing

Sorry I cannot help you more, but good luck in your search.

You have been very helpful, thanks a lot! I will check with water companies across the region. Do you happen to know the name of the land near you?

Happy to help if you are still in need.

I heard a story a few years ago, that someone bought some land somewhere near Taliesin or Furnace who bought a small amount of land to grow veggies (for a box scheme or something similar), all going swimmingly until they decided to test the produce for lead/heavy metals etc.

Oh really, that is very useful to know. I will investigate further. Thank you!!
