    Univoq this season

Using it this year, two years ago we jacked it in after 100 ha, last year we used it on all wheat but used a contractor who was happy to use it, the cost of the contractor was easily offset with the saving in chemical cost. I cannot ignore the savings and will use Univoq wall to wall this...

    DSV Loxton

Has anyone had a crop of Loxton they have taken to harvest? How did it perform and what was the quality like compared to other milling varieties? I've got 10 ha in the ground now which looks superb, if DSV are to be believed it will remain very clean. BB

    HM TRAILERS

We hired an 18t last year for harvest. Excellent trailer and would buy one over our Stewart trailers. Quite basic and higher than most trailers but tips really well in low buildings.

    Malting barley shortage

Following this up, how has progress been across the U.K.? We’re drilled up cereals wise and will put peas in tomorrow, we’ve been very wet but fortunately have had a few dry days. Looking at the national forecast I guess a lot of barley won’t get drilled? BB

Cost of a 1000 ton grain store

2000t = £450000. Drying floor 4.5m deep. 8.5m eaves. Have footings in for one here but have just paused the project for 12 months, it’s going to be a s##t harvest here. Building manufacture has my £25k deposit so it will happen, just not sure when! BB
