I quite like the fact there is a knack to them. Means you can let someone else try, they obviously struggle. You turn up, lift them in the middle between your legs and they just slide in. Simple.
Its a long day if the person you are working with cant work out how to get them out.

I’m surprised how fit and healthy the guys near retirement age in the film look. The ones I remember from the 80’s were knackered men as much from a life of alcohol and fags as the undoubtably hard work.
Milk taste seems to matter. I found diluting the milk more made a difference. Try using real milk from another ewe until it gets the idea of the bottle.
I also dipped the teat in some electrolytes. Not so sure that made a difference but at least I felt I was doing something.

Salmonella is still a major worry for poultry producers and there is a risk of it coming from the sheep.
A positive salmonella test will wipe out any profit from sheep forever. The advice to keep 30m from shed seems a fair balance, but there will still be a risk.
Hypothetically with top egg performance, a good egg price, cheap feed source family labour money on deposit and a value on the manure, while somehow not paying any tax, possibly, but I certainly wouldn’t budget on it.
