Yes, that is an easy way to replace wheel sensor speed for gps speed.
i did this a few years ago and immediately removed the variations for different wheel setup, pressures and possible wheel slip plus of course empty to loaded wheel diameters.

now I just need to get the AgOpen GPS to control the rate… and maybe headland shutoff.

I run the Amatron 3 on a 250 quid Garmin boat GPS using the free L5 signal, plenty accurate fir spraying and spreading and FJ dynamics for the Autosteer using a base station, again no friggin pesky subscriptions.
