Assessing Cropped Systems

Location
Dundee
This thread is posted by Pete Iannetta of the James Hutton Institute (JHI) Agroecology Group, and who leads Work Package 1, 'System level performance and data management' of the NCS Project. Also, in WP3 (ex situ and in situ experiments), JHI manages a long term (since 2009) faba bean based experimental platform - the Centre for Sustainable Cropping.

This thread should be used to discuss methods and approaches to assess the performance of pulse-based systems. How might we best do this? Whether from the level of the field (or patch within a field), to that of the whole rotation, and on-farm use of pulses. Please do share any thoughts or recommendations you may have, and regardless of whether any system performance indicators you may suggest relate to economic, environmental, or/and biodiversity factors. Thank you!
