Capital grants claims

Has anyone made their own hardwood gates for part of a grant contract and claimed for them? I have an opportunity to buy some oak and would like to make my own (to grant spec) and wonder if I could claim the equivalent cost as if bought in?

Cheers

I can't see why not, provided you follow the minimum requirements, as it says that you must construct a gate, not that you must purchase a gate

FG12 Wooden field gate

You must:
  • construct the gate out of timber in a style that is traditional to the local area
  • construct the gate to the specifications below if there is no local gate style: ....
The FG12 grant payment rate is fixed at (currently) £ 489.90 per gate so, provided you comply with the option requirements, you will receive that rate of payment whether the cost to you is £ 48.99 or £ 4899.
