How good are kubota tractors?

Yes. But your comparing a 95 hp Case weighing 4.6 tons to Kubota with 95 hp weighing 3.3 tons. That is one heck of a difference!
The John Deere is a massive 2.1 tons heavier!
They were never built to do the same jobs
I've got a 26 hp iseki , and a 34 hp Kubota , same physical size tractor but the iseki is over 120kg heavier , and definetly better built .Kubota started off with all sorts of issues oil leak that took 3 ,goes to fix , bispeed turn 5 attempts to fix , it still clunks, and bangs when that engages .

Dad owned one of the first M series, M9540. It permanently had the loader attached to it and in 4k odd hours it was a reliable tractor. It was the main loader tractor for both farms and only real issue was a bearing in the gearbox that was replaced FOC out of warranty, it was known issue on the early ones and an upgraded bearing solved the issue on later models

Pros
Easy to operate
Excellent steering lock for loader work
Kubota loader was a good tool
Very reliable overall

Cons
Lightweight, rear tyres had to be ballasted and I fabricated a front weight block that allowed the weights to remain on even when loader fitted
Ergonomics were poor for taller operator as the steering reach / length was not adjustable
Power shuttle was sharp and you ended up using the clutch almost every time
Was a bit gutless

It was replaced by a NH T5, which is altogether a stronger outfit, so really unfair to compare both. The T4 or T5 Utility would be a closer match specification wise. It was just a little bit too light weight for us and that was the reason it was changed, but wouldn't hesitate to have another Kubota, just a heavier model more suited to our work.

There used to be a few about NW Wales, but not so much now as both dealers have stopped selling them (GNH and Major Owen) which was another factor in changing brand. I think Hughes Bros would be the closest dealer to us now, which is a bit too far to be honest.

What happened with Major Owen? Kubota agriculture is still part of the web site.

If u want a heavy duty 1 buy the m7 series, nothin light duty about them, no1 buys a 95 hp tractor expectin it to pull a 4 furrow rev plough lets be sensible about the thing. As for parts bein expensive all tractor parts are extortion the cheapesr i know of is zetor but thier even to expensive
We used to pull a 4x14 inch reversible dowdeswell with a Nash 885 4wd 82hp (which was basically a souped up 674 with a better cab) if a modern 95 HP tractor wouldn’t do that it be off back to where it came from sharpish!

Got a M5112 not sure if it’s just me but in the 2 years we’ve had it gone through 4 doors, yes we’re on top of a hill and it can be windy, but it seams to be a problem it does everything else that I need it to do but doors are killing me just about to order another one (door that is)

Son used a 3 or 4 year old 150hp Kubota with his last job. It was fitted with a loader and seemed quite a versatile tractor with 50k box and air brakes, front suspension and quite a comfortable cab. Personally I did not think it was quite a nice cab wise as my much older T6070 NH but it was bought for a lot less than the more mainstream brands at the time.
