I’m 20 odd stirks short. Dad went off this morning to buy some and couldn’t believe what he was seeing! Good 30 day old calves around £500. Stirk ring would be 350ppk with people buying them and then moaning on saying I don’t know how I’m going to make these pay there far too dear. Then buying more 🤦‍♂️he was in at plenty of O grade stirks but dropping out £200 under what they made. He said he was in at some 10 months Hereford heifers to £800 the sort that would only grow to a 300kg carcass, bidding finished at £980. Realistically someone is going to have to keep them for the next year for £400 on current fat price. Hopefully for the folk buying fat gets to £5.50-£6 dw in 12 months for them to get out. Great time to be selling though 👍
He actually said R and U grade suckler bred yearlings look a bargain compared to dairy bred at the moment.

He’s off to buy a pasture topper instead tomorrow…..😂😂
Were was that at ?
