Be half of that with a trade in

Doubt it. The trade are undervaluing trade ins because they dont want the stock so hoping you'll sell privately.

And what about the guy who decides he needs another tractor so has no trade in. He's then facing paying £200k off over 3-5 years. Machinery prices are just mental and I no longer see any value in new machinery to be honest. You need to be doing 2000 hours a year on a tractor or loader to make the figures look ok.

I think the 5075e is made in India but you must get the "asia" spec that wouldn't meet EU emissions. As far as I know here (France) they are all common rail engines with ECUs even stuff like this, the e series is still pretty basic though. I also notice that the e series goes up to 93Hp ish in Oz but stops at 75 here which makes these simple tractors just a bit too small for a classic do it all stockman tractor which for many needs to be 100Hp min. JD would rather sell you a 5M with bells and whistles.

Is it possible for a mechanical injection engine to meet the latest EU rules? Can anyone think of tractor still on sale with one? I can't.

Of course The UK could row its own boat and go its own way but lets not open that can of worms.

I think up 70 75hp don't need all the emissions stuff, over that they do. Could be EU regs.
Which raises the question of just how much hp do you actually need. I'm from a time when the likes of MF 590 and Ford 6600 were doing all the heavy lifting. 4 furrow plough, 3 and 4 meter drill.

The lengthy 0% interest has arrived, even if the prices haven’t dropped.

My mate made a valid point today.
He said it's stupid not to spec front suspension when your paying that amount of money for a tractor, which I thought made sense. £1500 is still £1500 but when your spending £80k+ you may as well have something comfortable to drive.

Its the same as everything whether cars, combines, tractors etc, better spec always seems expensive at the time but in most cases should makes it easier to shift later on and achieve a better price.

If you can get the benefit of the better spec machine as well during ownership then its a win win situation.

What the workers don't take into account is that there's been buoyant sales up until this point but the forecast for future sales is considerably different
Think that's probably why they are striking; they seem to want what was agreed previously.
They are probably very aware that production staff get laid off in a downturn so want as much as they can get before that happens 🤷‍♂️
