Welger baler AP52

Hello all, I have an old Welger baler. It was fantastic up until last summer when it threw a bale and bent the needles. I replaced the needles with brand new, turned by hand and all seemed fine and once back on the PTO it bent the needles straight away. I am in Northamptonshire so any assistance from anyone that can help would be greatly appreciated

Check that the two locking stops on the side of the chamber go in when the needles are up . If they don't , and the ram comes back it will break needles as fast as you can fit them . Just a thought and one thing to check along with others . Also , make sure that the ram and needle timing is correct , otherwise , again , disaster .

Thank you all for your help. Mr Henry duly was instructed and he has fixed both of my balers all being well. The only downside was that I had to turn the flywheel by hand with a double hernia. I did call him some harsh names but what a great guy!!

So what was the cause of the needle breakages?
