Yea first auctioneer did go bust (V king I think) . Then Bse hit and j.j morris just gave up on itI remember the old one better than the new one. I think I only ever visited the new one two or three times. It didn't last long. Did the auctioneer go bust or something?
I remember V King Thomas [I think they were] going under and leaving a lot of money owing to farmers.Yea first auctioneer did go bust (V king I think) . Then Bse hit and j.j morris just gave up on it
Not the sheep anyway. In Carmarthen every thursday lucky if there are 4/5 pens of sheeps. Shame really as there is pens for 100's if not 1000'sI remember V King Thomas [I think they were] going under and leaving a lot of money owing to farmers.
Where is all the stock that used to go through these marts. JJ Morris might just as well give up on Cardigan mart as well, the way things are going.
Perhaps the new Carmarthen mart is taking everything?
Hampton was a cracking little Saturday morning market ,run by Jones ,s from Wrexham , Dad used too let us take calves and the odd bullock ,with the tractor and trailer ,they had an old wooden rail carriage as an office and a fair few(Me included even though I would only be 16/17) used to pile in the New inn for a butty and an afternoon of slowly getting bladdered and watching the racing on telly ,happy daysnever can seem to find many pics of crewe market itself, i remember going a few times and my dad and workman went to sell calves on the last day it was open
