60×80 shed, downpipe positioning

Putting up a 60' wide × 80' long shed. Using the deep profile plastic guttering.

Will I get away with the downpipes at one end of the 80' run, or do I need to position them half way along the shed so gutters only taking 40' each way of rain water?

I'd prefer the downpipes at the end, but would be pleased of any experience/ advice. Thanks

Should have explained. That will get me even further away from the drainage tank I need to get to.

I’d bury a pipe from one end to the other before Id put a downpipe in the middle of a shed

I put the down pipes on one end of a 120 x 45 shed so that tank collection was easier.

That was 7 years ago, haven't noticed any bother with it although I wasn't watching during the most torrential rain, every other time - fine.

80 foot long is going to be a heck of a distance for a heavy shower of rain to go. Can you put in a plastic water storage tank the other end as well?

We put up an 80x60 last year, with downpipes at the end to collect the water. In a heavy shower the gutters cant cope.

Mine wasn't plastic though, it was formed tinwork of some sort recommended by the erectors.

We've a 60×80 with downpipes in middle of the run and it's never been a problem.

What style of gutters does yours have please?

We were going to use the deep flow plastic.

I've got to get the water from one side of the shed across to the other, and didn't really want to go under the shed floor with the drain. Also, if it ever gets a lean-to, don't want a downpipe in middle of shed.

That's actually a bigger roof area than our shed is going to be.

Got a 160’ x 120’ one side of which only has downpipes at each end.
Never had them overflow in 12 years since it was put up. 6” downpipes though.
The other side with three 4” ones does though.

We have a 120 by 60 with metal gutters only one down spout at one end not had any problems yet.

We've a 45' long × 75' span with the normal half round plastic gutters. They do overflow in torrential storms.

The picture is slowly building.

We only use metal gutter now might be a bit more expensive to start with but doesn't fall apart, when we put a shed up each leg is 20mm lower per 20ft bay so the gutter stays the same distance down from the edge of the roof, gives a constant flow and can't be sen by eye, just need to have the lowest end where you want the drain to be

it’s the box type made from same stuff as shed cladding.
Roof is actually 160’ x 127’ as has 7’ overhang on one side.
Side with the two 6” downpipes taking water from 160’ x 77’ of roof
Side with three 4” downpipes 160’ x 50’

They are plastic, I assume deep flow. 6 inch semicircle would describe them best.

I’ve exactly same size of shed , downpipes on each corner , heavy shower of rain and it still overflows !

Have a 90 x45 and a 75 x 60 all on deepflo plastic guttering both running to 1 end never had an issue. Have a 96 x 56 on 6 inch plastic gutter running to one end with only issue of wind blowing water over the side if stormy. Deepflo gutter all the way with plenty of hangers and you shouldn't go wrong

Could 45 the middle outlet and take it to end as well. Bit of a faff but if tank is gravity fed that may help. Doesn’t need much fall
