Hi spec, but, I phoned the contractor and asked could he spread some slurry for me, as I had a big problem with my tanker. He said has it imploded, he knew any number like that near here.
It doesn’t look anything like my HiSpec tankers which are twenty years old now. Had to replace a tyre on one a few weeks ago and I posted pictures of it. Obviously mine are bigger tankers but there’s no family likeness at all apart from them being basically big hollow tubes with end caps.
This would be the first HiSpec I’ve seen imploding without having an initial dent caused by either an overturn or collision.

If it’s just the ends that are getting thin you can replace them the actual tank may not be bad here’s one we did a few years ago the tank checked out ok so fitted a new end tanker still in use.
We have done three over the years.

Out of intrest who would be kitted out to make the domed ends like that?

I think the one in the photo was from the tanker manufacturer as it came with everything welded on ready to fit.
We have bought them in the past from a company called Purdie I think

Those little tankers- who really has the time to cart muck about in one of those these days?
The many smaller farmers who have 70 to 90 hp tractors. Or they may be used to clean water troughs or indeed as water bowsers. There are many situations where a sub-1500 gallon tanker could be useful for some farmers and where a contractor would not be practical or timely .

Looking for wisdom, failing that ‘quick bodges and creations’.
Elderly but functional slurry tanker is beginning to implode.
If everything but the tank wasn’t working fine I’d probably scrap the thing but as it only gets occasional use for 3-4 loads at a time the sensible options are limited.
No point in buying a new one really and not enough work to call in a contractor.
I’m unlikely to be able to source a sensibly priced replacement tank ( unless anyone knows otherwise) which leaves one other option..
Can anyone think of an expanding foam/reinforcing layer of product that I could line the inside with to delay the decay?
Theoretically it’s just the rear dome that’s paper thin but I expect the main barrel won’t be far behind!
Loosing some volume is bearable.
Thanks
Second hand 1100, 1300, 1500 gallon tankers are 10-a-penny near enough nowadays as they're approaching obsolecence. Just away and buy one of them.
Ruscons are serious for imploding, see the amount of photos on the internet of them like a squashed tin can...
Don't know how folk can have tankers on super singles, must leave WW1 trenches behind it everywhere it goes unless it's baked rock solid in the middle of summer.
