Playing Blu-Rays on Windows 7 WMC

Just bought a Media PC and wondering can anyone recommend free or cheap Blu-Ray support for Windows Media Centre on Windows 7?!!

Hi @Rob Graham, are you looking for a hardware (drive to put the disk in) or software (program to play the disks in your machine) answer?

I've only ever played with Pioneer BluRay drives as a backup device and must admit find the PlayStation on our TV hard to beat for watching BluRay movies so never played in this area sorry.

If it's software try VLC http://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.en_GB.html as it plays almost anything

Software @FarmGeek as I purchased the PC from a family member who used the PS3 for Blu-rays despite the PC having the hardware. The current software, Cyberlink PowerDVD9 Ultra doesn't have the necessary licences to open recent Blu-rays and have trawled the net for options but no hard reccomendations so I'll try VLC cheers

That's odd that the machine was supplied to your family member with hardware and not the software to utilise it.
If you get no joy let me know the exact OS you are running on the PC
(Start -> Right Click Computer -> Left Click Properties)

Using a Trial Version of TotalMedia Theatre and working very well cheers

I was going to suggest TotalMedia as well, but I'm a big fan of Cyberlink's PowerDVD as well. Both have Media Centre plugin features.
