S wheat into volunteer winter oats.

I am planning on drilling spring wheat in to these sprayer off volunteer winter oats in the next couple of days. To soil is in lovely fettle with plenty moisture. Is this a good idea or am I going to run into issues along the lines and f the two Simons theory? The drill is a Horizon DSX...

HSE to clamp down on farms this 2019

I have had a footpath moved that ran through our yard. I requested it on health and safety grounds. It didn’t take allot of effort really, a couple of phone calls, fill out a form, send off a cheque (around £2k if I remember correctly). We are in Warwickshire.

    Weighbridge servicing

We have a Weightron weighbridge which has been serviced by Weightron up until now, however they seem very expensive. Is there other companies that I could use for servicing? I have spoken to Parker farm weighbridges in the past but they couldn't service a different brand.

    Gatekeeper web app

I had a similar problem earlier today. I shut the browser completely and then re-entered the web address again as it’s shown in gatekeeper where you exchange data on the devices area. The address was slightly different to the one I had before.

Simba Cultipress, rigid tine conversion to pro active tine

    I think it is a 2003/04 machine.

Simba Cultipress, rigid tine conversion to pro active tine

I have never used a proactive tine, my thinking was that it would be less likely to block with trash because of the vibration on the tine, particularly straight into stubbles.

Simba Cultipress, rigid tine conversion to pro active tine

Is it possible to convert a rigid tine cultipress to a proactive tine setup? It’s a 6.6m machine if it makes any difference.

Nutrient planning in Gatekeeper, Muddy boots, etc

I spoke to Farmplan at Croptec, I don’t think there is any major updates coming anytime soon. You would think that after at least ten years, they would have something up there sleeve. They only need to look on here to see that they need to up their game, the Gatekeeper threads are getting a bit...

Nutrient planning in Gatekeeper, Muddy boots, etc

Is there also not some quirk about having to have lime neutralising value included in your planning to get it to spit out a nitrogen recommendation for grass? For a supposedly premium price of software it is pretty basic! Particularly when it comes to grass nutrient planning, so much double...

Nutrient planning in Gatekeeper, Muddy boots, etc

I noticed today that the nutrient planning part of Gatekeeper is still using recommendations from the old RB209. There is a free app from Yara which uses current RB209 information, yet Gatekeeper which we pay a small fortune for is around two years behind the curve. Are Muddy Boots and other...

Spring barley in winter oat crop

I have had a problem in the past with winter barley in oats. The 3c was unintentionally delayed which meant the barley was out in ear by the time it went on, it was still a safe timing for the oats. There was hardly any barley in then sample, most grain sites on the barley were blind.

    Pedestrians in farmyard, H & S.

We have just had a path diverted here on health and safety grounds as well. It wasn’t to difficult, we did have a very helpful rights of way officer. It cost about £2,000 here as well.

    Horsch Joker

Ours has done this, just like yours. The half width rings seem to wear excessively fast. I have welded them up and then hard faced them which seems to have helped.

    Spring oats

A good stale seedbed deals with most of the volunteers. However if I’ve not put on any Atlantis, I might have to follow up with a bit of topic or similar.
