Has anyone had any finance quotes recently? I’ve been quoted today 4.38% flat for 50k over 60 months. I’ve nothing to compare it to as the 3 others I contacted haven’t come back to me yet.

    Alcohol

I’m not sure if this is the right part of forum to post, or even if it’s really the right forum, but I think it’s a problem that many have experience of, either directly or indirectly, and the depth of knowledge/life experience on TFF rarely lets you down. We have a relation who is an...

So my 18yr old son is doing my head in about getting a pick up truck.. Fine; but we can't find insurance for love nor money! Are farmers rowing back?

Been noticing a lot of land on the Sainted Isle that previously had been farmed well (talking grassland here in the main) that this year is looking rank with thistles and other weeds common and the sward allowed to seed and go yellow. As far as I am aware, it’s being farmed by the same people...

Buying livestock on a 0% interest credit card

I’ve noticed a lot of adverts for 0% for 6-12month credit cards recently. Is anyone buying their store lambs/cattle with them? Is it too good to be true? Seems a good way to me because you’ll have the lambs bought, fed and money back in the bank then just pay the card off? Anyone got any advice?

    Honey Bees

Not sure if we have a Bee thread, please move if so. We sell a bit of honey every year so I suppose it counts as livestock! My latest strategy to get more honey is to stop the bloody martins from perching in literally droves on the telegraph wires, sailing about and chowing through my bees as...

Taking on 200 acres.. how to finance it?

So I've been offered 200 acres of grazing on my doorstep. It really is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me as land just doesn't come up round here, certainly not on that scale to rent but that's going to take a significant amount of money to stock etc... I'd be thinking of mainly putting...
