Is yield much lower on 25 cm Avatar vs 16,7 cm Avatar ? A German Horsch Guy tell me that springbarly might drop in yield in wider rows . Should 25 cm rows be drills North South direction?

it drops if you end up drilling spring barley or spring wheat late, into April. feb to mid march no difference. from quite a lot of experience.
winter crops all fine, spring oats fine.

Double drill it, wouldn't take long at 12m. I double drill all my grass leys, too valuable to take short cuts.
Definitely for grass or if you’re trying to drill spring cereals now.
We actually run an old 750a I inherited on a field of late March drilled spring wheat vs avatar a couple years ago and the 750 closer row outyielded the avatar by about 0.2t/ha on yield maps. Not massive but over that area equalled about a lorry load of spring wheat less.
