At least the filter is not very old - only made last August

The grill openings look small enough to be a good filter.

There's definitely not one inside above the throttle pedal.
Unless it's accessed by literally pulling the thing to bits to get to it.

it will be like the first parts pic i posted, need to undo all them little screws holding the unit in, then i think take the heater cable off and possibly the heater pipes??? too pull the unit back far enough to disconnect the electric plug and remove the foam filter on the inside.

Buy the new filter first, you dont want to go to that trouble and find its beyond cleaning! think they are only around £12?

Why are you worried about it? is the air flow from the vents poor? outer filter looks reasonable.

Edit to add that there is no external grill on mine

Same people who used to site the hand primer directly below the turbo. Needed a skin graft if someone ran them dry.

Or the same people who mounted the jcb engined ones fuel filter on the engine. Its on flexi pipes ffs. Fix it somewhere easier.

I just wanted to know where they are.
I service my own kit, and not knowing where they were was really bugging me.

Took me years before the in cab one came to light, still have trouble finding it and I know it's there. 2017 machine though.

Earlier machines only had a foam filter to catch the big bits and that is practically impossible to get out & in to clean
