I suppose this is why most people spread muck first and plough it down. I can see that spreading on top might be better if it can be done.

A bit of fine tuning needed, but doing ok.
spreads to right side on top of ploughing.
I take it the grab bit on the front pulls it back into a beater at the back ?
good idea [as I thought spreading on top with an orbital was] I cant see to much point in ploughing down as there is only one way it will go from there same as lime
You just as well have something useful on the front as a set of weights
how well does the spread pattern work out ?
can you just leave the spool engaged on the grab and set the spread rate with a metering valve as on the orbital or do you just give the lever a pull now and then ?

just give the spool a nudge now and then. in time it could be done better.
the blue bit is a rear mounted spreader, i got the maker to adapt it to front pto rotation.
the red bits all home made.
