are your belts tight and in good condition. try blowing through the system with a airline . seems odd its only one side is the centre tube up to the mushroom clear no dust or seed dressing stuck or built up on it. good luck

Its not one side its the whole width of the drill, its as if the metering wheel is speeding up and slowing down every metre or so, trying to watch the drive shaft turning as i'm going but it looks even.

As above . First thing is to empty seed from hopper. Open flap and check for damage on the plastic feed roller.
Also disconnect the driveshaft and check the roller is turning correctly.
Is the drive chain adjusted correctly? (Unlikely but it could be very loose and jumping a few teeth)

@DCB touched on it. Worn uj's. Meter wheel goes round, takes up the slack - results in a fast/slow movement. Our accord had 4 uj's, each a bit worn resulted in a nice diagonal pattern across the field on emergence. Soon grow away.
Stays in the shed now

There is something worn or tight in the drive. Could be joints or if a chain drive excess slack. Rotor is turning slow then fast because of this giving thick and thin. Check nothing worn or tight.

Well before doing anything take the guards off and turn the wheel off steady by hand and see if theres anything iffy
then split the system down, try with just the handle on the metering device,
with the wheel but no drive bar connected then the lot.

my guess is on mice have eaten the metering device I have 1 bar on mine with nice chew marks in but it hasn't affected drilling yet (touch wood!!!)

Just to drag this back up, I have an Accord DA which is sowing unevenly down the row, its about a meter of thick followed by a metre of thin all across the field, its sowing the right amount just not evenly, any ideas?
Check the drive shaft from your land wheel to metering unit. If the knuckles are worn or not welded on the shaft correctly it will have a wave effect when sowing.
