Best pigeon scaring devices?

If you have to drive round flashing a laser at the pigeons, surely you may aswell just have a shot with a gun? Even a moderated rimfire will send them away if you can safely drop a bullet into the flock. As for crops near villages etc I find there's that many dog walkers loosely interpreting the foot paths it tends to keep them away

Andy Crowman Crow is the best deterrent around here. Has been known to take out 500+ / day on his own!!!
It is said that the best result from shooting pigeons is the therapeutic one on the farmer.
Now I'm all for shooting as many as you can but it is a bit like trying to empty a stream with a bucket. You can shoot every single pigeon on your farm but the next day they will just spread in from your neighbours.
Keep them on the move so that they settle on your less diligent neighbours.

Newark, but work in East Anglia region so always happy to drop by when I can. BASC member and trained gundogs. Respectful of crops and neighbours :)
Shooting pals also if you are really being hit hard.

Head down a tram line on a motocross bike at 80 mph scares the sh** out of them. Much quicker to get round the crops than bouncing about in a land rover and much more fun. Let some rockets off as you go as we'll for maximum effect.

I can help with pigeons and corvids around South Yorkshire/ North Notts areas. I'm insured and self employed, so can get during the week as well as weekends.

I have 'invested' in a drone. Best fun I've had chasing pigeons ever. Literally, you can chase them (up to 500m anyway). They don't like it up 'em.

That does sound good, but plenty of opportunity for mid air collisions. Happened to a friend of mine chasing pigeons with a remote control plane so keep your distance.

Would be good if you could dangle a rope banger beneath it!!!

I had thought that would be an idea well worth trying but haven't got round to looking into it more yet, would save a bit of trudging around in sticky fields hanging up banger ropes, just fly it around from standing in the gateway (y)

Exactly, saves lots of trudging and time. Not good for fitness or the dogs though!

I think I would rather hit a pigeon than carry an explosive device underneath. Camera is reasonably delicate. I have had to rescue it from a tree once... didn't seem to do any damage luckily. Haven't climbed a tree for 40 years!!

A friend's son had one for Christmas and proceeded to fly it into the fire in the living room. Luckily it had only just been lit, but the downforce blew soot/ash everywhere.
