extremely easy to sort out. More than happy to give you some advice if you need it. Not the best typist though so best to give me a call if you want to chat.

Our borehole is filtered for iron, manganese etc and then softened.

After that it's put through a reverse osmosis filter. The problem with the RO filter is it sends 2 litres to waste for every 1 litre that goes into the tank.

So for the poultry shed that runs on it, 7.5 cube/day is extracted to give 2.5 cube to the birds.

If we put the other 2 poultry sheds on the borehole we'd have to extract 23 cube a day by the time it had been filtered.

Edit to say, I think you can run the RO filter at 1:1, but ours is set at 2:1. In any case its already working at its limit.

This the results I received back yesterday, from the lab, my concern was the calcium/ phosphorus levels in my water, was contributing to my on going problems with TD in my chickens, I’ve had a discussion with my vet but she was very vague

sorry cannot offer any advice about any link between TD Calc/Phos. Would be interested to know if there is any link though if you manage to find out?

The only advice I can offer is at your hardness level (around 315 CaCO3) you might find your drinking feeders block up with scale. Softening the water increases the sodium levels but even after softening you would be under the regulation limit.

Adam.
