It’s entirely relevant, but you probably can’t see that around your blinkers.

Anyway, I have sheep to shear - as you were. If you’re not busy, how about getting JP1 a proper quote for his health insurance? 2 adults, 1 dependent and reasonable health status (BVD free, but not MV acc), i would imagine
Thought you were having a pop at Boris
My point was live in the EU by all means , don't expect the British or French govts to pay for your healthcare

If you are in receipt of a pension your french health care costs are covered by the uk government, if you are working in france you pay tax there and cover it, if you move before you receive a pension and can afford to live then youre not "ordinary"
Not any more!
You can't get S1 cover now, it's for EEA/EU nationals.
Edit, in English for you and be careful with the dates...

Health status?
First thing you'll be asked
under 60- Have you seen a Surgeon in the last 5 years?
Over 60 - Have you seen a Surgeon in the last 10 years?
For what , where when?
Report commissioned.

Tell you what Rob, get a travel insurance quote for France with your health status!

UK citizens who are in receipt of a uk pension are still entitled to a S1 form and get free health care, just look it up

UK nationals who relocated to France before January 2021 are entitled to an S1 when they reach State retirement age.

From the link you posted
Those same rights apply to those living in France before the end of 2020 who later reach pensionable age, provided they are entitled to a UK pension. You can read more about these rights on the links below.

The exemption from social charges on pension income for holders of an S1 also remains in place. The same applies to capital gains and rental income, provided they hold an S1, although for such income a solidarity tax of 7.5% is payable.

According to the European Commission, UK nationals who relocate to France after 2020 will continue to have similar rights.

Its as plain as day, uk citizens who lived in france prior to 2021and were below pension age are eligible when they reach pension age as are any UK citizens who moved after 2020

OMG!
This is because they are under the Withdrawal Agreement!

This DOES NOT apply to moving now!
