I'm thinking along similar lines.
I have a nice heavy girder sat waiting for a job. Just need to figure out a suitable design.
@Dave W is keen to have a go when he finds time between reading "caravan weekly"!

Have you ever met one of George Byerly's roadmakers? He was up near Hexham and made quite a few to tow behind tipper/tractor. I called to see him once and made a stretched copy, 2 heavy channels with a blade 2/3 of they way back, wheels behind blade, 11' wide and 20' long. Too awkward to move about but suits us. Not sure about the 5t bit though, a good bucket full will do for 120hp on wheels. A friend of mine made two heavier versions again.....the more you spend the better a job. Only at Ipswich if you wanted a look.
