Do they not think farmers like me who go for smaller items i.e harrows or tyres either bid less or cant be bothered with going? Peter Crichton from Bury doesn't charge it and always seems to get a large turnout of bidders

For some (ancient) reason its common practice to charge 5%buyers premium for farm auction sales in lincs. All firms that hold a sale in lincs adhere to this.
Believe me the stuff i bid on ain't big bucks items!!

Grounds you used to declare this at their sales, but these days some auctioneers charge buyers premium and others do not.
