Bulging battery

Never seen this before
Cause the AG mini was shop soiled, they didn't have the destruction manual or charger, so I just use a normal battery charger straight on the battery.
Put it to charge about midday but forgot about it till 6
The result

Would a normal tyre service place be able to get me a new one?

Always thought when a battery was fully charged they just stopped???

Ah I think you need an intelligent charger for them as they are a gel battery same as an ATV

2 main reasons batteries swell
Firstly discharged batteries will freeze
Secondly overcharging using a cheap charger

Not dry cell batteries, you have to control the charge closely.
If you were tight, you could put a small car battery in, but the proper charger will be stressed.

I had three go like that on my grandson's 36v Oset. Caused by overcharging from an unintelligent Chinese charger.

My old charger had a led bulb to say battery ready. That the same??

You need one that's suitable for gel type batteries.
An ATV place will stick those batteries

The same way but not for 6 hrs or try get a proper ag mini charger

If you get the spec of the charger, you can get the same off the net rather than genuine?
Have you a model number of the spreader?

The plug on the machine is like a small cigarette lighter. Like the ones on nh beacons used to be

While your on fleabay or Amazon get a little CTEK charger. They work on all lead acid chemistries and can adapt their charge curve to suit. About £50-60 for a decent little one.
