Calving camera

looking to get a calving camera this year, anyone know the ones to avoid! Any thoughts on the farmers eye ones, not sure the cheap ones on eBay would last long? Cattle barns are 150m from the office WiFi, I’d want it on the phone/iPad, so I’m thinking either a sim camera or I’d rather a WiFi bridge to the office. Zoom and rotation I think are a must, they will always calve in the corner the camera doesn’t cover very well if not!

It depends how much work you are prepared to do yourself really. Sure you can buy the bits off eBay but in reality you probably won't save that much overall and it'll be a bit of a headache getting it all set up.

I would definitely go for wifi if at all possible. SIM card is a huge pain and gets costly with the monthly data fees.

Our most popular kit is the Revolution Camera kit at £999 with everything you need. And you can pay for it over 6 months :)

We just had another 50 arrive from a China yesterday.

All looks good, I know quality doesn’t come cheap!! Sorry if I missed it in the spec sheet but how far will the WiFi range, it’s 150m but if I put something on a pole it will be in clear sight of the office.

Quality pays I'm afraid, I put in my original agricamera 2 years ago and was so impressed with the quality and simplicity of setting it up I added another 3 cameras to other sheds last year and will proberbly add another this year. It's foolproof to set up and if there are any problems the the team at agricamera are at the other end of the phone to sort it out which you wouldn't get from eBay or anyone in China.

Unlikely as it sounds Solar Equestrian do a good one with infa red night vision , pan and zoom for a fraction of agri camera cost. Very pleased with ours

Does your's work off a solar panel? Never heard of Solar Equestrian, I see they are just down the road
No 12v battery, but it can work from a solar panel too or mains.
Uses sim card or WiFi, they are very helpful in setting it up and it works well. I am using it in some rented buildings a mile away with calving cows better than the moocalls I have been using.

What sort of data do you get through with these, I see they start you off with £10 credit on the card, what sort of money are you putting on it, looks a good system, not that I’m unhappy with my AgriCamera but think that system might be up my neighbours street.

What kind of broadband speed is needed to make everything work?

Any TFF discount [emoji6]

Most broadband connections nowadays are fast enough. Can’t remember the last time we had one that was simply too slow to work.

Curious about these cameras with a SIM card: I’m wondering how much data they push and is it only pushed when viewing? Could be expensive maybe?

@coomoo Did you get sorted with your camera? In your photo, your internet is coming in through the TPlink/mains ring, where does it go after that and whats the mains powered black box?
Waiting on a camera from de laval to try. Internet speeds brilliant just been using it wirelessly. Black box loops between the tp-link and plug in port from outside antenna.
