Calving camera

Curious about these cameras with a SIM card: I’m wondering how much data they push and is it only pushed when viewing? Could be expensive maybe?
I've got a tenner a month 'goodybag' from giffgaff on mine, thats 4gb of data which is just about enough as calving just now so looking a lot, during months when not calving I think a fiver a month would do.

When you want to look, you phone up the camera via the app, once connected that's when it starts using data.

@sleepy tried to message you the following but it wouldn’t let me talk to you! Hi sleepy, I am off to farm in France in September, the farm has a camera on a rail with 2 500 watt halogen security type lights, the out going tenant wants 2500€ for it and it only does half the shed. Shed must be just over 100 m and is 150 from the house with an old stone barn in the way. Would you support it if I am in France and would the wireless link work through the old barn? Thank you. Matthew
