As any one ever seen one of these ,in a big old farm house , it blows hot air to every room in the house ,what does it run off ?
It has a load of square tunnells running under the house to each roomLooks like the winn warm air heaters that we used to heat glasshouses with years ago.
Ran on diesel, with polythene tubes running the length of the glasshouse to distribute the warm air.
Sounds like a very similar set up,.have heard of houses with ducting and grilles in the floors for a forced warm air heating system. It has a load of square tunnells running under the house to each room
yes my bungalow build 1968 not by me had this system ,have vents come up in all rooms out of floor, vents above every door, guts running the show had been ripped out, storage heaters put in as replacementAs any one ever seen one of these ,in a big old farm house , it blows hot air to every room in the house ,what does it run off ?

I can remember the electrician on one of his frequent visits to the house saying our system was based on a Canadian system, only ours seemed to be having teething troubles. All the houses on the estate had the ducted air system and an electric fire. The electrician said his job was like painting the Forth bridge, by the time he'd gone all round the estate the heating had failed in the first house again. The landlady was always complaining about the electricity bills.Forced air heating is the most common here. As said it’s quick to warm the house up and can have ac added relatively easy. Much more controlled than a water/ radiator system that’s slow to change. Electric is best. No carbon monoxide or furnace to buy or maintain just heater elements and a fan.
