Chainsaw stops when hot

Husky chainsaw starts and runs OK for about 10 minutes but then stops and won't start again until it's cooled down. Changed fuel, plug, air and fuel filters but still the same. Also seems to be running a bit hot, any ideas? I've been running it on E10, and just discovered i'd be better with E5, could this have caused the problem?

No more like Tank vent blocked ?

or even more likely needs opening up/tuning .as in its running too lean .

could dig out the catalytic converter if it has one as well get rid of that sort of crap, but do that before tuning mind you.

I was just thinking, your husky sounds a bit like me!
My huskies don’t like running when it’s hot either 😂

You say runs OK for 10mins - but is it running as it should?

Running hot is a symptom of a lean fuel mix (more oxygen, bigger bang - hotter temperature). A little hot is ok but needs looked at. Too hot and it'll melt the piston ring killing the engine.

E10 has never been an issue with my fleet of 2strokes despite what gets said.

A faulty coil will not cause the engine to run hot. But it could be the issue with it stopping once hot. Easy enough to replace, you can try it but I suspect it won't cure everything.

If it does, great! But if it's still running hot you need to find the problem.
Always start with the cheapest fixes and work up. Check for rich fuel or air leaks;

Without knowing the model, straight off the bat make sure the carb is set properly.
You've changed filters but did you inspect the fuel lines to make sure they are all OK?
Does this saw have an impulse line - is it OK?

If it's an older saw, are the crank seals ok? Usually the clutch side will go first but could be the flywheel side. If by visual inspection shows no issues a pressure test would confirm things are good, or indeed there is an issue

Have you changed the air filter to a non original? They can let too much air in and they run lean (hot).
Nithsdale above has most of it covered.

How old is the plug? Have had similar issues with a knackered plug, worked fine till hot. Also check it's the correct plug, had issues with old quad, similar and turned out to be to low a heat rating on plug

I'd a Honda Lawn mower doing that, turned out it was the coil breaking down when it got hot. Point being it's not a cheap fix if you buy a coil and it's not that, unless you can return it, and there's no real way of testing a coil my man told me.

You can take the plug out ,connect the lead ,hold it on the casting and crank it over ,that's how I discovered the coil was duff ,wasnt getting a spark

Or dribble some mix into the carb and see if it will fire. A consistent ten minutes sure sounds electrical. If it was starting to run rough a short but variable time after starting, instead of dying, then I'd suspect a cracked fuel hose letting air in once warm.
