Whys wheat jumped
Because there is not as much spare as folk have been saying ,harvest prospects are to say the least not brilliant in europe but fair to say better than here ,the ruskies havnt got as much as they have been making out other buyers are starting to take an interest china/india etc ,europe making noises about transit of grain out of ukraine and america not so bullish so 5 points and if 4 are true/correct theres the answer

another reason could well be that the grain that was sold forward has just about cleared the system so the buyers are now looking for more having been able to use the forced sellers /cash flow as a means of reducing their average plus as grain is forward priced higher there arenot a lot of voluntary sellers about with sheds full.

All the easy sellers have gone , only the knobs like me left

Crop conditions every where in the world are now becoming part of the story
up to now all predictions were based on trend yields
which in the uk is 9 tonnes wheat per ha on 1.8 million ha
now nearer 1.5 million ha and 7 tonnes per ha

issues now being looked at in every production region

Funny you should say that.

Our local mill rang us today to see if we wanted to move/sell them some wheat for April........ We are quite likely their smallest supplier! We NEVER get calls from them, always have to chase them.
£162 feed wheat delivered April.
We declined.
Got £163 ex farm April at about 16.50 this afternoon from the orange lot at Bressingham
